Patchwork of the Crosses

We're in the middle of The Greater Atlanta Quilt Shop Hop this week!  It's the 16th anniversary of the shop hop and here at Little Quilts we're celebrating with a Sweet Sixteen Party including jukebox music from the 50's and staff members dressed in the fashion when they were sixteen.

We also have pictures of the staff when they were sixteen - fun to try to match everybody up to their picture!

A flashback to the 1950's wouldn't be complete without remembering that Lucy Boston began working on her Patchwork of the Crosses quilt in the 1950's.

I thought it would be fun to look at some pictures from England in the 1950's.
I'm sure these are English quilters! Don't you love the fashion?
Home life looked a lot like home life here in the U.S.

City life complete with double-decker buses.
Rock and roll dancing...
And what would a collage of 1950's pictures of England be without a portrait of Queen Elizabeth!
A flashback picture of Lucy Boston when she was young.

If you haven't already stopped by, it's not too late to join in the fun....Shop Hop continues through Saturday, March 14.  We're open 10 - 6 every day.

We have paper piecing supplies at the shop if you need more glue refills, honeycomb or square papers.  Or, you can always order extra supplies from our website here.

Check our pinterest board to see more new blocks.
