Time for Show-N-tell

Beth Liotta just finished this paper-pieced beauty. Pattern is by Judy Niemeyer.

Just back from the quilter! This beautiful Coastal Lilies quilt (pattern by Minick & Simpson), was pieced by Trish Wys and quilted by Beth Liotta.

Beth Liotta and Trish Wys are determined to make all the quilts from the "40 Fabulous Quick Cut Quilts" book. Here are the two most recently finished projects. It's a great book and all the quilts are stunners!

Isn't this a cute "I Spy" quilt? Diana Carafano made snowball blocks and set them using the pattern from our "Great Snow Event" in January. Very playful!

Ann Caldwell reproduced this beautiful quilt from a 3" picture she saw in a book of antique quilts from Amish country in Pennsylvania. Carefully studying the picture, Ann drafted a color grid for the quilt and then stitched the quilt from the grid one quarter at a time. It was tedious work, but what a fabulous result! The pattern is called Bowmansville Star.

And how about THIS show-n-tell.....

We love show-n-tell!

This beautiful quilt was made by Barbara Burnette for her sister Linda. The Swallows Star Path pattern is from the book "Fifteen Two Block Quilts" by Claudia Olson. Stunning!

This batik beauty was made by Mary Anne Zambory for her daughter Courtney who attends Boston University and just arrived back home for the summer. Pattern is from the book "Scrapbasket Surprises".

Michelle Hall just finished the Beginning Quilt series last year and already she's finished her 4th quilt! She has been making memory quilts for all her family members. This quilt will be given to her uncle, Leonard White. Beautifully done, Michelle!

We love the Chill Chaser pattern. It's quick, it's easy and no matter what fabrics you use, it always turns out great! Sandy O'Donnell made this really cute dinosaur chill chaser for her grandson Kennan. We think he's going to love it!

Tuesday Odds & Ends

Well I have to say, it's been a while since I've had time to post... you can attribute that to shuffling two boys back and forth from baseball games lately.  When I'm not at home, at at the ball park!  Now, where do I begin.....

Let's go back to Paducah, Kentucky.  Mom was there in April.  Here are a couple pictures of the Little Quilts booth.
In the middle of the picture above, you'll see the Little Hearts quilt by Little Quilts.  We have kits for sale for $27.95 which includes the 31 page Little memories Booklet.  This is a great booklet full of summer projects... you can hand applique all these little hearts while you're traveling through the summer!  As long as I can remember, Mom was ALWAYS sewing SOMETHING on our 12 hour car rides to Chicago!  Yes, my brother and I in the backseat, Dad driving (with Coffee of course) and Mom always sewing something!
Another shot of the Little Quilts booth...

Here is our favorite prize winner from Paducah... it was done in wool.  The embellishments and stitchery were so beautiful!

And now it's time for SHOW-N-TELL

Nancy Cumming brought in this quilt for show and tell. She used our Saturday Sampler block of the month using the six inch version and Karen Mowery's little house pattern together to create this awesome quilt. She even quilted it herself on her long arm quilting machine. What a tremendous job Nancy! We all enjoy show and tell so much so please everyone bring in those finished quilts.

Paula Wexler just finished this session of the Primitive Club and is showing a finished quilt known as the Spencer Museum Mystery Quilt, hand appliquéd and hand quilted. This is a real show stopper. Along with the quilt she made a delightful pincushion from a Sue Spargo design called the What Knot. She used some hand dyed velvet, wool and other trinkets. Too pretty to use for just a pincushion. If you look close on the table you will notice a small quilt she completed as well. The ladies in this Primitive Club turn out some great things.

Mary Anne Jernigan showing her quilt "Collector Series" by Jan Patek which was completed in the Primitive Club class under the guidance of Fran House. The new series is just starting and their is still time to jump in. They will be working from the book "Simple Seasons" by Kim Diehl and the first project will be the Winterberries quilt. Visit our web site to see pictures along with the class description.

Madelyn Williams brought in this beautiful variation of the Aboriginal pattern. She used Kaffe Fasset fabrics and the end result is beautiful!  The colors in Kaffe fabrics are so rich and vibrant. Thanks fro sharing with us Madelyn!

Ok, I'm almost done I promise!  Take a look at these beautiful floral fabrics "Coming Up Roses" By Olivia Audi for South Sea Import.
